For First Camp, nature is at the very heart of the guest experience – and a resource worth protecting.

Now, Europe’s largest camping chain is taking another step to do just that. Smartvatten and First Camp are entering into a partnership to strengthen water efficiency and reduce the risk of hidden water leaks at camping destinations across Scandinavia.

Sustainable holidays – for real
For several years, First Camp has worked in a structured way with sustainability issues related to energy, waste, climate and resource use. Water is a natural and important part of that work, especially in a business where thousands of guests stay close to sensitive natural environments.

Through Smartvatten’s digital solution, First Camp now gains:
• Real-time monitoring of water consumption at selected destinations
• Early detection of leaks and deviations
• Data-driven decision support to reduce resource use
• Better follow-up on sustainability targets

This is not just about measuring – it is about being able to take action.

Nature is the very setting for the experience at First Camp. That is why we are working purposefully to reduce our resource consumption and protect the areas where our destinations are located. With Smartvatten’s solution, we gain better insight into our water use and can detect leaks quickly – an important step in our work towards more sustainable destinations

— Jenny Ell, ESG Manager, First Camp

Smart data protects both nature and business
For Smartvatten, the partnership is a clear example of how the hospitality industry can take greater responsibility for water – a resource that is becoming increasingly critical on a global scale.

Water is one of our most underestimated resources. By working in a data-driven way, First Camp can both reduce its environmental impact and strengthen its operational efficiency. That is exactly the kind of partnership we want to create.

— Fredrik Abrahmsen, Sales Executive Real Estate, Smartvatten

In businesses with major seasonal fluctuations, water consumption can change rapidly. With continuous monitoring, the risk of unnecessary waste, costly damage and environmental impact is reduced.

A step towards the sustainable destinations of the future
This initiative is an example of how First Camp integrates sustainability into its daily operations and continues to develop solutions that contribute to more resource-efficient and responsible destinations.
