EXPO Real: Smart Sustainable Solutions for Real Estate

Smartvatten spent three successful days at EXPO Real in Munich, taking the opportunity to spend valuable face-to-face time with clients and interested parties and talk about issues facing the real estate sector. Sustainable solutions were top of mind for those in attendance, and Smartvatten was ready and eager to help.

During short sit-downs and extended meetings, Smartvatten was able to learn about the wide variety of obstacles clients are facing and their determination to step up their sustainability game. “People are looking for solutions that go further than saving money, but that are truly future-proof and ESG-focused,” says Nico Gotthardt, Sales Manager Germany at Smartvatten. “And they were also keen to talk about not just the service, but the technology behind it.”

The fair was an excellent opportunity to help both existing and potential clients take the next step in sustainable solutions for their buildings – and, in a shared booth with five other Prop Tech companies (Openr, Priva, bGrid, Pulse Core and C), not just in terms of water but also, for example, for managing buildings. “For someone looking for smart solutions, it was really appealing to have everything bundled together at one place,” says Gotthardt.

 

A Water-Saving Ecosystem

EXPO Real was also a chance to showcase the Smartvatten service and solutions to the German audience and share insights now that there’s a dedicated German team in place.  “Our business is not just digital, it’s based on trust and enthusiasm,” Gotthardt says, “so being present makes all the difference.”

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. “Visitors talked about being interested not just because of our solution, but also because we – as opposed to competitors – are specialized in the whole water-saving ecosystem.” If your properties are already equipped with smart systems and you’re already using a platform you like, Smartvatten has no problem working with other systems and solutions. In fact, we make it our business to be user-friendly and provide easy integrations to make this happen. “We don’t just offer our service, we try to grow with our customers and focus on a long-term business relationship,” Gotthardt adds.

 

Connecting on a Personal Level

Like the German team, Global Key Account manager Tim Twisk found the EXPO to be truly beneficial. “Real estate fairs like EXPO Real give all of us in the global team a possibility to connect with our clients in a really efficient way,” he says. “Because our clients are located throughout Europe, it’s usually very difficult to connect on a personal level. To be at a venue where all the biggest real estate companies – and therefore our biggest clients – are gathering, is really beneficial to our work.”

“Having some personal time in an unforced setting helps us to better understand our clients’ priorities and issues they’re dealing with,” says Twisk. “That way we can also improve our partnership with them.”
