Customers around the world can soon compare their properties’ water consumption with that of their peers. The new Smartvatten global benchmark feature calculates and ranks the water efficiency performance of every asset, and introduces the new Smartvatten Standard for water efficiency.
The benchmark is scored by calculating the amount of cubic meters of water used per square meter. By dividing water consumption by the floor area in square meters and by categorizing buildings according to their purpose – i.e., water utility, apartments, hotel, office building – we can determine what can be considered a normal amount of water consumption for a particular building.
The new feature will score your property by using a points system and award water efficiency labels within each category. When you make water an important part of your sustainability goals, you’ll be awarded more points. Setting up a clear water strategy, getting ready for your GRESB and BREEAM certifications – it all counts!
With the new Smartvatten Standard for water consumption, you’ll get an even better sense of where you’re at on the road to a water efficient future. Show off the strides you’re making while getting a look at how your colleagues and competitors are faring.
We will go live with a basic launch – comparing properties against other properties – for every customer in Finland and Sweden at the end of June. In early September, we will kick off the full Smartvatten Standard where you can compare your property to the category standard.
Customers around the globe can also join in: share your properties’ floor area in square meters via firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll add the benchmark feature!
